Join us for an extraordinary snorkel liveaboard adventure through both Komodo and Alor and the islands in between. We’ll be on board the lovely Naga Biru liveaboard, which we’ve chartered exclusively for our group. We’ll  start the tour snorkeling around Komodo before heading east around the islands of Flores and Lembata, snorkeling along the way, before arriving to Alor where we’ll indulge in all the fantastic reefs and marine life Alor has become famous for.

Naga Biru Liveaboard snorkeling Komodo and Alor | Snorkel Venture

We’ll be covering a lot of territory and visiting locations not otherwise accessible from a resort, one of the advantages of a liveaboard charter such as this. The Naga Biru will be our floating home for the duration of this tour. With it, we’ll snorkel Komodo, Alor, and the islands in between while enjoying all the luxuries and amenities of a comfortable resort, while also indulging in the exhilarating experiences of exploring seldom-visited reefs and islands.

| Snorkel Venture

The infrequency of snorkelers and divers visiting this isolated region has kept its reefs in absolutely stunning condition! We expect to experience a vast array of reef types, each with its own unique blend of marine life. On this tour, it’s not uncommon to see just about every type of anemone fish in Indonesia, cuttlefish, octopus, frogfish, various species of crab and shrimp, nudibranchs, reef sharks, mantas, turtles, scorpion fish in all shapes, sizes, and colors, sea snakes, sea horses, and so much more!  This trip really offers it all!

A member of the Snorkel Venture team escorts the group for the duration of this snorkel liveaboard tour.

*Please note that this particular itinerary covers a lot of territory and, therefore, involves multiple overnight crossings between regions. You will be in the open sea and more exposed to the elements, particularly swell.  If you have any reservations or hesitations about what it’s like onboard a liveaboard, please get in touch with us and/or read this blog about what you can expect from a liveaboard itinerary such as this.

Day 1 - Meet the group in Bali

On arrival in Bali (DPS), you will check into the airport hotel and relax. That evening, there will be a group dinner where you can meet your fellow snorkelers and the Snorkel Venture group leader.

Day 2 - Arrive in Labuan Bajo

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll check out and make our way to the airport where we’ll catch our short flight to Labuan Bajo. Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, we will be met by the team from Naga Biru, who will help shuttle us to the harbor where we’ll board the lovely vessel. Once aboard, we’ll unpack and relax before a full boat briefing and an overview of the following day’s itinerary. Time depending, we may be able to enjoy an afternoon snorkel around one of the nearby reefs.

Day 3 - 13 - Snorkeling from Naga Biru

Each day starts with a “light” breakfast before starting a site briefing for our first snorkel session. Each snorkel session will run for 60 – 90 minutes. From Naga Biru, we’ll board the smaller tender boats so we can be safely dropped in the shallows. All the snorkel sessions have surface support so you can jump on a tender and return to the main vessel if you prefer a shorter snorkel session.  After our morning snorkel, we will return to our boat and dry off. There will be dry towels waiting on the dive deck for us. Additionally, a full hot breakfast will then be served.

After our second breakfast, we hit the water again for another snorkel session on a nearby site. We return to the main boat for a delicious buffet lunch, usually 2 – 3 courses. Then, after a little break to allow our food to digest, we prepare for the third snorkel session of the day. Afterwards, snacks and beverages are served (you will not go hungry on this cruise!).
We intend to offer 3 snorkel sessions a day along with several night or sunset snorkels, if conditions allow. You are not obliged to participate in them all. Instead, you may prefer to relax and soak up the charm of the exquisite vessel.

We do have a rough itinerary, which we intend to stick to. Being on a liveaboard affords us the luxury of being able to be flexible with things, particularly when weather or sea conditions are unfavorable. We may make adjustments to the schedule so that we are always snorkeling in the best spots at the best possible times, not only for weather but also for marine life sightings. Highlights on this tour should include snorkeling with some of the most diverse and colorful reefs in Indonesia, encountering all the stunning schools of reef fish, mantas, reef sharks, turtles, and strong possibilities of critters like frogfish, octopus, nudibranchs, and even seahorses. There are even good chances of spotting the weird and very large mola mola! From the boat, it’s very likely we’ll spot pods of dolphins and melon-headed whales, and it’s even possible to spot different species of whales.

Day 14- transfer to Bali, tour ends

On our final morning, we’ll enjoy a final breakfast onboard. Thereafter, we say farewell to our lovely Naga Biru crew and transfer to the Airport for our flight back to Bali where the tour ends.
Please speak to a member of our team before booking any international flights.

We will be reaching most of the snorkeling sites via a tender boat, there is a ladder and the Naga Biru crew are on hand to assist with water entry and exit. Therefore, a certain level of fitness is required to climb the ladder – if you have any questions on this you can contact us here.
