The Reef-World Foundation is the leading voice on practical sustainability solutions for the scuba diving and snorkelling industry. Its work has been proven to reduce threats to one of the world’s most valuable ecosystems: coral reefs. By inspiring, educating and empowering governments, businesses, communities and individuals to adopt sustainable behaviours, Reef-World is protecting delicate marine environments for the benefit of local communities, visitors and future generations.

Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation
Sixteen years after its launch, the founding philosophy that ‘sharks belong in the ocean and not on the menu’ remains core to the campaign work of Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation. Its conservation concept is simple; when the demand for shark products declines so does the value of a dead shark. For that reason the charity has relentlessly campaigned for businesses to remove shark and shark-derived products from stores and restaurants while all the time advocating that the general public should learn to regard sharks as the lions and leopards of the ocean.

Manta Trust
Formed in 2011 the Manta Trust team comprises a diverse group of researchers, scientists, conservationists, educators and media experts; working together to share and promote knowledge and expertise. Their mission is to conserve mobulid rays, their relatives, and their habitats, through a combination of research, education and collaboration.

Misool Foundation
The registered charity arm of the private island resort, Misool. Based in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, their joint mission is to safeguard the most biodiverse reefs on Earth through the empowerment of local communities, providing a structure by which they are able to reclaim their traditional tenureship of reefs. At the core of their operation is the belief that sustainable tourism and community-based conservation are mutually beneficial. They seek to demonstrate to our local hosts, government, guests, and ourselves that sustainable tourism can provide a better life than logging, mining, or overfishing.

Thrive Conservation
Their mission is to increase the reach and effectiveness of conservation across Indonesia by empowering an emerging cohort of Indonesian conservationists. We support young Indonesians to address overlooked environmental issues on land and in the ocean. These young leaders work together with local communities and decision-makers to solve conservation problems. They connect young conservationists with experts to create networks for knowledge exchange and to design effective action. Supported by mentors, they enable them to find appropriate solutions that allow people and nature to thrive.
