In early 2020 we ran four awesome tours to Belize by liveaboard (check out the video below). We wanted to create a similar experience but based from a resort, ideal for anyone who doesn’t quite have the sea legs for a full week on a boat. Many of our tour leaders run regular trips in Indonesia but the general consensus was that Belize really does have amazing snorkeling and whilst it may not match the diversity in marine life compared to Asia-Pacific it must surely offer some of the finest snorkeling reefs you will find anywhere in the Caribbean.
This 8 night tour includes 7 nights at Turneffe Atoll and 1 night on Belize mainland for land tours. Turneffe Atoll is the largest coral atoll in Belize, located southeast of Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker, 30 kilometers from Belize City. It is one of three atolls of the Belize Barrier Reef, along with Glover’s Reef and Lighthouse Reef.
Improve your underwater photography skills on this tour, it will be escorted by photo-pro Alex Lindbloom who will be sharing hints and tips about how to improve your photographs above and below the surface.

Upon arrival to Belize City, meet your driver and transfer to the Radisson Fort George for check in. You can spend the day relaxing and enjoying the hotel facilities before meeting your tour leader and fellow tour members for dinner in the hotel restaurant.
After our hotel buffet breakfast, we check out and store our luggage, and depart for our guided tour to Altun Ha- one of the most sacred Mayan ruins in the country.
Upon return to the hotel, we have lunch and then walk across the road to the marina where we board a speed boat for the 2 hour journey to Turneffe Island Resort.
Once we settle in, we will have a group dinner and orientation.
Our days will start with tea or coffee delivered to your bungalows. We then meet in the dining room for breakfast.
Around 9 am we board our private boats and head to one of the many snorkel sites in the area, most within 5 – 10 minute boat ride. We will spend 60 – 90 minutes in the water for each snorkel session. We will be accompanied by local snorkel guides who will give thorough site briefings before we enter the water. They will be available to help with anything we may need, and to point out interesting creatures and fish.
We then return to the resort for a delicious hot lunch, before we head out around 2.30pm for our second snorkel session of the day. Upon return to the resort, one has plenty of time to relax and enjoy the facilities before we meet poolside at around 6pm for h’ors d’oeuvres, followed by chef prepared 3 course dinner in the dining room.
One day will be spent on a full day snorkeling trip, with packed lunch, to Great Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye and Long Caye.
If you are worried about food, please, don’t be. Besides for the three mouthwatering hot meals served daily, there are all-day snacks available in the dining room and hors d’oeuvres served poolside every evening. One evening is a beach BBQ, another a traditional Belizean affair. Dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice.
The resort has a gym, pool, paddle boards, kayaks and Hobie Cat, all of which are available for guest use at our leisure.
After an early breakfast we leave this little island paradise and return to mainland. Here you can wait at the Radisson until it is time to be transferred back to the airport for your departing flight.
This tour has a slightly differently ordered itinerary.
Day 1- Arrival and transfer to the marina for 3pm boat departure to the island.
Day 2 – 7- Belize Turneffe Resort
Day 8 – Check out and transfer to the Radisson Hotel. After check in we can relax until after lunch, when we will embark on a tour of Altun Ha ruins. We then enjoy dinner together.
Day 9- check out and transfer to the airport- tour ends.
All inclusions and exclusions remain unchanged.
