Join us on our extraordinary 15 day Philippines & Palau snorkeling adventure, where we combine two of the world's most magnificent snorkeling destinations into one complete tour. Whilst the Philippines boasts reef diversity, soft coral gardens in particular and the opportunity to see macro subjects such as Nudibranch, Octopus and frogfish - Palau offers a contrast in the marine environment with the opportunity to snorkel with big fish such as manta and sharks.
We start first in the Philippines basing ourselves out of the beautiful Amun Ini Resort located on a secluded headland surround by coconut palms, idyllic white sand beaches, and superb reefs.
After a week snorkeling a wealth and range of different reefs, we board a flight that takes us to Palau, one of the most beautiful Pacific Island nations and one of our favorite places to snorkel.
Widely known for its abundance of sharks and rays, Palau is truly spectacular. Fish life is abundant as well as a high concentration of coral species, the snorkeling is second to none - it's not dubbed 'the underwater Serengeti' for nothing.
Our base for the week is on-board the Palau Aggressor II liveaboard, where we cruise through the island nation's spectacular waters with ease and comfort.
Enroute we'll take time to explore Palau topside with an afternoon of jungles, waterfalls and history on Palau's 'Big Island'.
We start in the Philippines, based out of Amun Ini Resort on Anda, a small and remote province on the east coast of Bohol Island. The fringing reef starts directly in front of Amun Ini Resort and runs north and south along the coastline for a good few kilometres.
In the shallows sea grass beds make for good encounters with critters such as frogfish and octopus, coral reef bommies also pepper the sandy bottom and attract colourful juvenile fish. The fringe reef starts at around 3-4m before reaching the crest which tops the wall before plunging deeper. Expect colourful coral gardens in abundance with a diverse range of fish life - turtles and rays are not uncommon as well but its the colourful reef that provides the main spectacle.
For the second part of this snorkel safari we travel to Palau, a small group of islands in the Pacific. On arrival there'll be time to relax on land as well as explore the Big Island. We'll take you up the rocky dirt roads of Babeldaob Island to see the sprawling, panoramic view on top of Palau's highest peak. Hike across the freshwater river, stopping to bathe in the mini-waterfalls and mountain pools along the stream, until we reach the big 80-foot drop waterfalls.
After a day or rest and land touring Palau, our home for the next week - the Palau Aggressor II for a 7-night cruise through the island nation's spectacular waters.
Our itinerary remains flexible allowing us to stop and snorkel the very best sites that the country offers.
Sites such as German Channel offer good chances of encounter with manta rays, whilst Blue Corner and New Drop Off are great for shark encounters, as well as Napoleon Wrasse and Eagle Rays. Ulong Channel can deliver an exciting drift over magnificent hard coral reef whilst the Jelly Fish Lake offers a unique experience of snorkeling with thousands of non stinging jelly fish. Get in touch to hear about more of Palau's premier snorkeling sites.
The boat is captained and staffed by an experienced crew who know the area inside out. They know when the water conditions are best to visit the various snorkel sites and understand the currents and tides. There will be experienced guides in the water with snorkelers at all times.

Amun Ini Resort
The Amun Ini Resort, meaning ‘this is ours’ in local dialect, is family run and offers personalised service and little touches of luxury as well as easy access to many snorkelling sites of the Anda region, all of which are just a few minutes boat ride away.
Amun Ini Resort not only boasts its own white sand beach which is otherwise inaccessible but also a house reef that plays host to picturesque corals and abundant critters including mandarin fish, frogfish and ghost pipefish.
Nature lovers and people looking to escape the busy western world will also appreciate the secluded tropical haven, with magnificent views, a beautiful pool and spa, and excellent service and staff. In short this is without doubt one of our favorite locations in Asia – it comes highly recommended.
Palau Aggressor II
The Palau Aggressor II is a 32m/106' world class liveaboard yacht complete with 9 cabins which come equipped with private bathrooms, showers and air conditioning. The onboard menu features chef prepared international cuisine catering for all dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free etc), as well as offering soft drinks, beer and wine complimentary.
As well as a spacious lounge, the ship has a large sun deck, bar, grill and hot tub with internet service available through the satellite system. At night presentations relating to fish identification, slide shows, games or films will take place in the lounge.
Most snorkel entries are made from the 35’ custom built high speed, outboard skiffs capable of carrying 18 guests for quick access to even the most remote sites. The boarding ladders were designed for convenience to allow for easy exits and entries. The tenders return to the mothership after each snorkel.
