Journey with us on board the beautiful Amira Liveaboard to the reefs of Misool in southern Raja Ampat. This 11 night snorkeling safari has been created exclusively for snorkelers - with only snorkelers on board. We'll be heading to a remote region of the Raja Ampat archipelago to snorkel secluded reefs packed with marine life. Misool has earned a reputation as having some of the richest and most healthy tropical reefs found anywhere in the world, this is particularly true of soft corals which adorn the reefs with vibrant colours and mesmerising structures. Fish life is also plentiful here, from busy reef fish which hang in the shallows to larger pelagic species such as barracuda, horse eye jacks and trevally.
This snorkeling safari is escorted by a Snorkel Venture team members.
Raja Ampat is a group of islands in the north eastern corner of Indonesia, which name comes from a local myth known as “The Four Kings”. These 4 kings are island groupings called Misool, Salwati, Waigeo, and Batanta which as a collective comprise over 1,500 minor islands. The range, diversity and abundance of reefs found here is truly staggering.
Our route onboard Amira Liveaboard takes us south to the Misool islands. On offer here is a vast range of snorkeling sites from coral covered walls, reef flats, pinnacles and placid lagoons which all play host to a wealth of marine life. Fields of gorgonian fans can be seen in the shallows whilst colourful hard coral gardens rise to within breaching distance of the surface - this really is some of the finest reef snorkeling you are likely to see anywhere in the world. Not only this - the reefs here are in superb condition.
Expect fish life in abundance, from colourful reef dwelling species to larger pelagics. Manta's are frequently seen, and it's not uncommon to see whales passing by from the liveaboard.
Cruising through Raja Ampat is no less spectacular, the top deck of Amira is the ideal place to catch the final rays of a sunset or gaze at the beauty of the archipelago.
Site selection will be tailored specifically to snorkelers.
